The Best Baga Beach Water Sports in North Goa

The Best Baga Beach Water Sports in North Goa

Baga Beach in North Goa is India’s best known beach destination and one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Being one of the most popular beaches, Baga beach sees quite a lot of water international sports news activity on its shores, especially during the holiday season when there are plenty of tourists around. A number of operators offer water sport activities like Jet Skiing, Parasailing, Banana Boats, Sea Doos and Paddle Boats on the beach all year round, making this a very popular choice among tourists as well as local residents and students alike. Banbanjara travels provide this tour in the budget, you can book from there.

Scuba Diving

When it comes to Baga Beach water sports in north Goa, scuba diving is one of your options. As with other water sports, scuba diving can be easily arranged directly with an operator on Baga beach. The best time for scuba diving is between October and February; although conditions are still good during other months, visibility tends to decrease as water temperatures rise. That said, most companies will allow you to try a dive for free if you don’t have any experience or training—so there’s no harm in jumping into some warm (and rather clear) waters and see what happens!

Parasailing

If you’re not afraid of heights, parasailing is an awesome way to kick off your water-sports adventure. Parasailing involves being pulled behind a boat while secured by a harness and attached to a parachute. If you’re looking for something more low-key, parasailing is also available on land—no boat necessary! Just be sure to check if it’s allowed at your destination. The operator will attach a harness to you, which attaches to a rope that pulls you up into the air.

Kayaking

All around Baga beach, you’ll find a ton of places to rent kayaks. Just make sure you have a life jacket on and that it fits properly! Kayaking is a fun way to explore all of the hidden coves along the shoreline; make sure to get out early so that you have time to float through some of these watery wonders before returning your kayak. No experience necessary for renting kayaking gear, but we’re not too keen on swimming after dark – just saying!

Banana Boats

Banana boating is probably one of Goa’s most popular water sports. Tourists enjoy banana boating on Baga beach, but there are various companies around Panjim and Mambos that offer banana boating. The first banana boat was created by an American called Richard DeCoursey, who sailed with his friends from Fort Kochi to Vypin Island in 1970. When they were about to leave for home, their captain asked them if they wanted a ride back. DeCoursey thought it would be fun if he could somehow get a bunch of bananas onto a raft and sail back home—and so he did! He borrowed some money from his friends and bought a few dozen bananas for 10 rupees each. He then found some bamboo sticks lying around at Manik Farm and tied them together using ropes made out of coir.

Windsurfing

If you’re looking for action, hit up Candolim beach, where windsurfing and kite surfing are practiced. The calm weather here ensures a safe practice of these extreme sports. A kitesurfing instructor told us that Candolim is probably the best place to learn windsurfing because it has a huge bay (required for kitesurfing) that’s great for beginners. So what’s so special about learning how to wind surf at Candolim?

Jet Skiing

When it comes to jet skiing, you can either ride on your own or you can go as a group. It is best to carry two people at one time to get maximum fun out of jet skiing. Jet ski water sports are great for adventure seekers who would like to experience high-speed thrills and excitement along with riding their friends or loved ones at a rapid speed. This activity will take place from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm which is open everyday throughout summer months.

Ocean Rafting

With scenic white sand beaches and rocky interiors, explore them by Ocean Rafting. This is great fun for people of all ages! The tour includes a variety of adrenaline-pumping activities including Aqua Cycling, Parasailing, Banana Boat Rides, Kayaking and much more. Ideal for both individuals as well as families with kids.
